Grooby’s Kristel Penn Offering Free Letters of Support for Trans Individuals

LOS ANGELES, CA – In honor of Pride Month, Grooby’s Kristel Penn is teaming up with Gather and Grow OC and The Nest Counseling to offer free letters of support (readiness letters) to trans individuals living in California. This community offering will run throughout June. 

“I’m very honored to team up with group therapy practices Gather and Grow OC and The Nest Counseling to make this community offering as accessible as possible to as many trans individuals as possible,” says Kristel Penn. In addition to their responsibilities as Grooby’s longtime Creative Director, Penn is also an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) licensed in the state of California. “A readiness letter from a therapist is needed for trans individuals to access medical gender-affirming care, and we recognized that not everyone has the financial resources to pay for those services from an affirming provider.” 

Penn is joined by group practices Gather and Grow OC and The Nest Counseling in this LGBTQ community offering. In addition to Penn’s role at Grooby, they are an Associate Marriage Family Therapist (AMFT #139294) based in California who works primarily with the LGBTQ community.
