What a year it has been for the transgender population. From Amazon’s award winning series “Transparent” to Caitlyn Jenner’s moving acceptance speech at the ESPY awards, the trans community has much to celebrate, and sadly much to mourn.

As San Diego Pride approaches, Trans*Pride would like you to be a part of their journeys to celebrate and reflect on everyone who had the courage to change the world and those lost in the struggle.

Starting at noon on July 17, the public can join in on this free event to support the people and organizations which help ensure trans men and women are recognized and appreciated for their courage and determination.

If there’s a specific workshop or activity you’d like to have an interpreter for – just go to the registration table and make your request.

SPANISH INTERPRETERS- We are also working on finding Spanish interpreters at the moment. If you know anyone who don’t mind interpreting in Spanish – send us a message on Facebook!

WHEELCHAIRS-San Diego Pride will lend us a couple of wheelchairs for the Trans* Pride March at 7pm. If you need a wheelchair – you will need to go over to the accessibility booth AT SD PRIDE before the Stonewall Rally and speak with Angela Van Ostran.

We will provide space where you can decorate your wheelchair/cane/other medical supplies like pill bottles/boxes with puff-balls and rhinestones.

STIMMY STATION- Also, we will have a stimmy station and will provide certain supplies including fidget toys and play doh-like items. Please note we’re working on finding somebody who can oversee the station. If you know anyone who can supervise, send us a message on Facebook!

TRANSPORTATION:

Carpooling is strongly encouraged! Here’s a great link for carpooling: http://www.groupcarpool.com/
